I've gotten four chapters of my novel completed in the last three weeks, which is quite frankly amazing considering that's more than I managed to complete in my entire four years at uni.
I still need to go back and edit/revise at some point, but I'm hoping to harness this new creativity to get a full first draft completed by the end of the summer. Call me crazy, but I think eight years is more than enough time for a novel to sit as a 'work in progress'. I know exactly the story I want to tell and I know the characters better than some members of my own family - it's time I put pen to paper and got it done!
